The UAE hosted the twenty -second annual meeting of the Committee of Riyadh Memorandum of Understanding for Inspection and Control of ships, with the participation of members of the committee from the marine departments of the Cooperation Council countries for the Arab Gulf States, for a period of three days, where the members discussed ways to enhance marine safety, environmental protection and the sustainability of the maritime economy in the region. The meeting aimed to raise the efficiency of ships that visit the ports of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, by enhancing the commitment to international responsibilities in the areas of the marine environment protection, navigation safety and livelihood, and these efforts come within the framework of seeking to ensure the application of the highest safety and quality standards in the maritime inspection and control operations.
