Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat, Acting President of Aswan University, witnessed today, Monday, the inauguration of a drug control initiative, which started today’s activities under the slogan “You are stronger than drugs.”
This came in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Mahlal, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ashraf in front of the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohamed Dandrawi, Vice -Dean of the College of Social Service, Dr. Thami Swailem, the initiative coordinator, and Dr. Walaa Saad Arafa, Coordinator of the Preventive Programs of the Fund Control and treatment of addiction and abuse, as well as a group of university students and family students for Egypt.
The President of Aswan University inaugurates an anti -drug control initiative
In his speech, Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat, the Acting President of Aswan University, stressed that the initiative starts from the students of Aswan University who represent the hope of the future and tomorrow’s leaders in light of the construction of the new republic, as young people are the supportive force of progress, work and production in order to achieve the sustainable development goals.
Dr. Louay Saad El -Din added that the university’s plan for student activities aims to hone the skills and talents of students and work to invest their energy in everything that is useful for the individual, society and institutions, noting the importance of enhancing awareness among young people of drug dangers.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Mahlal, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, pointed to the position of youth and the importance of providing support to them in all different fields, especially in student activities that contribute to emptying students’ energies in positive and effective paths.
Dr. Ashraf in front of the Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development said that a stoppage initiative comes within the university’s anti -drug plan in cooperation with the Fund for the Control and Treatment of Addiction and Abskin, at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and that the community service and environmental development sector has prepared an executive plan throughout the year 2025, and work The establishment of the volunteer house and the training of volunteers from students in order to raise awareness of the dangers of addiction and work to reduce this phenomenon.
Meanwhile, Dr. Walaa Saad, Coordinator of the Preventive Programs of the Fund for the Control and Treatment of Addiction and Abskin, indicated that the fund launched many initiatives in cooperation with the University of Aswan to reveal cases of abuse between workers and students, and work to educate students about the dangers of drugs and its impact on the life of the individual and society, and the camp includes distribution Some awareness publications that explain the risk of addiction and highlight how to prevent it.
The camp also witnessed a number of educational and training activities that aim to enhance societal awareness among university students about the psychological and physical damage of drugs, in addition to encouraging them to adopt healthy and balanced life methods.
This initiative comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the University of Aswan and the Fund for Combating and Treatment of Addiction and dealing in spreading a culture of awareness and prevention between students and the university community as a whole, in support of national issues in the face of the challenges of addiction and drug use.
The initiative also includes launching a competition for students during the month of Ramadan to implement electronic or field initiatives to raise awareness of individual or group drug damage with the implementation of workshops to direct students on how the initiatives work, evaluation, advertising and honor the winning initiatives.
