Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, received Dr. Osama Al -Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, in the capital, Potragaya, the headquarters of the Malaysian government, during an official visit aimed at enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia in the religious and cultural fields, and expanding the prospects of joint action in spreading tolerant Islamic values and strengthening a speech Moderation and moderation.
The Minister was accompanied by Ambassador Rajae Nasr, Egypt’s Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Malaysia; And Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al -Bayoumi, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs; And journalist writer Mahmoud Al -Jallad, Minister of Media Affairs; In addition to the preacher, Sheikh Ahmed Hussein Al -Azhari, a visiting researcher at Taba Foundation.
The meeting was consumed by talking about the Palestinian issue, as the Prime Minister of Malaysia stressed during his reception of the Minister of Awqaf and the accompanying delegation to support the Egyptian position on the issue, stressing that the support of Malaysia confirms the unity of the Islamic class.

For his part, the Minister of Awqaf expressed his appreciation for this support, stressing that Egypt’s position does not express an individual will or will from the great people of Egypt alone, but rather represents more than two billion Muslims around the world.
The meeting included a discussion about the seriousness of religious extremism, as the Minister of Awqaf affirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Malaysia in facing extremist thought, by sending scholars from Egypt to contribute to spreading moderate thought and enhancing sound religious awareness, as he proposed to provide educational and training programs for Malaysian graduates who represent a great scientific power In the Islamic world.
For his part, the Malaysian Prime Minister welcomed this cooperation, stressing the importance of the presence of Al -Azhar scholars in Malaysia to support religious awareness efforts among young people, with a focus on developing guidelines and educational programs aimed at confronting extremist ideas and enhancing the values of tolerance and moderation.
The Minister of Awqaf affirmed that cooperation between the two countries will not stop at the limits of religious support only, but also will also include the implementation of joint programs held in both Arabic and English to enhance the deep understanding of the concepts of true religion and link them to scientific progress and innovation.
The Minister of Awqaf also stressed the importance of combining religiosity and creativity, pointing to the strategic goals of the Ministry of Awqaf that include combating religious extremism and religious extremism, building human and enhancing moral values, in addition to supporting innovation and creativity in a way that serves human civilization.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to activate the Memorandum of Understanding in November 2024, while organizing periodic scientific meetings and joint programs that contribute to promoting correct religious values and supporting the interests of the two countries in the Islamic world, in order to enhance the status of middle Islam at the global level.
It is expected that the relations between Egypt and Malaysia will witness a remarkable development in the light of this fruitful cooperation, especially in the areas of enhancing moderate religious discourse and exchanging scientific and cultural experiences, in a way that enhances the leadership role of the two countries in the service of the Islamic nation’s issues at the regional and international levels.
