Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Trade, stressed that with the approaching month of Ramadan, the ministry is working to continue to intensify its efforts to ensure the supply of appropriate quantities of various commodities, and to enhance the smoothness of the existing equipment before the holy month in terms of the availability of basic foodstuffs and the validity of promotional offers, within The Ministry’s follow -up to put the markets continuously to ensure the flow of basic commodities throughout the year, especially during occasions, noting that the market The local has a large abundance of goods, wide diversity and stable prices, to meet the needs of citizens and residents.
He indicated that within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Consumer Protection Department launched the National Initiative (consumer friend) in its third version, in conjunction with the approaching month of the holy month, with the aim of enhancing the abundance of goods and the stability of their prices, especially food, by providing reduced Ramadan baskets in order to achieve the principle Sifting and societal responsibility in cooperation with the private sector.
He pointed out that the Consumer Protection Department also launched, in cooperation with the private sector, the awareness and educational campaign under the title (in the month of goodness, we are not) through the official social networking sites of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to enrich consumers’ knowledge of the foundations and standards on which the process of buying and selling during the blessed month of Ramadan is based.
The campaign also aims to raise the rate of public awareness of the rights of consumers, by generalizing awareness phrases in the official platforms of the participating commercial stores and through their publication throughout these stores, in order to enhance consumer awareness in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to learn about the methods of smart and sustainable consumption.
He added that the ministry will honor the participants and respondents from the private sector with this initiative, and to hand them certificates and semantic paintings stating that the shop will participate in it.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade urges all representatives of the private sector to take advantage of the national initiative (consumer friend) and apply to registration with the Consumer Protection Department, to leave a social imprint among consumers in the Kingdom, renewing its call to report any violations or commercial violations, through the official channels devoted to receiving complaints and inquiries in The Ministry of Industry and Trade, or through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints (Communication).
