The Ministry of Works confirmed that it adopts a methodology based on international best practices in the field of project management, and that it is an accredited training center for training in professional certificates courses in the field of project management from the American Project Management Institute PMI. She stated that the number of qualified contractors with the Ministry of Works is 255 qualified contractors in 25 main categories to date, knowing that some contracting companies may be registered in more than one category, and the list of qualified contractors is updated automatically through the electronic system after the adoption of the Tenders and Auctions Council, and this list is available For the public via the Ministry’s website.

In her response to MP Al -Dossari’s question, she explained that the project life cycle within the Ministry’s methodology includes five main stages: planning, contracting design, tenders, and completion implementation preceded by the feasibility studies stage for each strategic project, and the pre -qualification service for engineering contracting companies falls within the services in which the ministry adopts Best practices in the contracting stage and tenders in the project.

She added that she is working to rehabilitate contractors to ensure their ability to implement the Ministry’s projects with efficiency and quality, and to ensure that contractors have experience and technical and financial ability necessary to implement projects. The rehabilitation process is carried out for contractors who wish to work within the projects of the Ministry of Works, as they are classified according to these projects, sewage roads, government buildings.

The Ministry included in its lists all the companies that submitted a rehabilitation request, as it is a prerequisite for entering into the tenders of the Ministry’s projects, in addition to that, it is not included in the event that the companies do not fulfill the requirements and the conditions of accreditation set by the ministry, whether technically and financially to ensure the selection of the capabilities capable To implement projects with the required quality and efficiency.

The Ministry of Works, in coordination with the Board of Tender and Review Auctions, and the development and adoption of technical and financial standards to rehabilitate the prior contractors of the Ministry’s projects periodically. This step aims to ensure these criteria are compatible with the size and requirements of the projects implemented by the ministry.
