The National Human Rights Corporation, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, organized an introductory lecture entitled “Paris Principles related to the work of national human rights institutions and the state of the National Human Rights Corporation in the Kingdom of Bahrain”, for a number of happiness with members of the Shura Council.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Badr Mohamed Adel, a member of the Council of Commissioners of the National Corporation, dealt with the general concept of Paris principles related to the Center for National Institutions for Human Rights and the Foundation of the Foundation in Bahrain, and the importance of these principles in promoting the independence of institutions and their ability to effectively perform their role in protecting and strengthening human rights. He also reviewed the legal foundations on the Foundation in implementing its mandate, including national legislation and international standards.
In turn, Eng. Ali Ahmed Al -Darazi, head of the National Corporation, explained that the lecture aims to enhance awareness of the vital role that the Foundation plays in defending human rights and the challenges it faces in performing its duties, in addition to the efforts made to overcome it. He pointed out that this event comes within the framework of cooperation between the Foundation and the Shura Council with the aim of promoting the culture of human rights and joint work between the two parties.
The session witnessed interventions from the members of the Shura Council, who stressed the importance of cooperation between the National Corporation and the legislative authority to promote human rights and ensure the best compliance with global practices, praising the role played by the Foundation in spreading the culture of human rights and following up the implementation of relevant international agreements.
