She explained that the statement published by Netanyahu’s office on the killing of Sherry Pipbas and her two children, Kfir and Ariel, was not with the approval of the family, unlike what came in the official announcement.
She wrote on her Facebook account: “A shame for everyone. We have not reached anything official, and there was no confirmation of the identity. How can they announce their death before checking this?”
For his part, a source in the Netanyahu office confirmed to the newspaper that the error was caused by a “misconduct” by the army’s communication officers, who allowed the publication of the names without obtaining the approval of the family, adding that “the Prime Minister’s office did not publish an official statement by the names of the kidnappers who were considered dead. “.
The Israeli army apologized to the family, and said that “it is responsible for the announcement issued on Wednesday evening for the inclusion of Sherry Pipas and her two sons Ariel and Kfir on the Hamas list of the dead hostages scheduled to be delivered to Israel Thursday.”
On Tuesday, the Israeli family of Pipbas published a statement indicating that it did not receive any “official confirmation” of the death of the two children, Ariel and Kafir, in addition to their mother Sherry after Hamas announced that they were among the bodies that are scheduled to be delivered to Israel Thursday.
“We were shocked by the declaration of Hamas, the prescribed return for our loved ones, Sherry, Ariel and Kafir, this Thursday,” the family said in the statement, adding, “We clearly confirm that although we inform this information, we have not yet received any confirmation in this regard.”
In November 2023, Hamas announced the killing of Sherry Pipas and her two children in an Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, but Israel did not confirm this.
On February 1, Hamas released the father of the two children, Yardin Pepas.
