Bahrain Parliamentary delegation praises Gulf consensus and cooperation with Asian parliaments

The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participating in the work of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, praised the common visions and consensus between parliaments and legislative councils in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and the keenness shown by the heads and representatives of Gulf parliaments, on the continuation of joint work and mutual coordination, in order to continue cooperation with parliaments Written Asian countries. The delegation also praised the efforts of the Gulf legislative councils and their sincere endeavors to deepen the Gulf, Arab and Asian parliamentary partnerships.

This came during a joint coordination meeting between the Gulf councils and parliaments, held this evening (Monday) in the city of Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the Executive Council meeting and the 15th general session of the Asian Parliament, where the delegation of the Parliamentary Division was chaired at the meeting, MP Ahmed Sabah Al -Salloum, Chairman of the Committee Financial and Economic Affairs of the House of Representatives, Vice -President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Permanent Committee on Economy and Sustainable Development in the Association, Representative Abdel Hakim Muhammad Al -Shano, Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Apple, member of the Shura Council, and Dr. Hani Ali Al -Saati.

The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain commended the continuation of the coordination meetings and meetings, which contribute to exchanging views and visions on various issues and topics that are discussed in all parliamentary forums.

During the meeting, representatives of the Gulf parliaments discussed the subject of candidacy for the presidency of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in its next session (2026-2027), in addition to the decisions that will be discussed by the committees of the Asian Parliamentary Society tomorrow (Tuesday), confirming the support of the Sultanate’s request to obtain the permanent membership status in the association.

The representatives of the Gulf parliaments also reviewed the proposed amendments to the charter of the Asian Parliamentary Society and the internal system of the association, based on the recommendations of the Executive Council.
