Engineer Essam Al-Najjar, Chairman of the General Authority for Export and Import Control, announced that the executive regulations for the law regulating real estate marketers in Egypt will be issued next month, as part of the state’s plan to regulate work mechanisms in the real estate marketing sector.

Al-Najjar explained in press statements that the new regulations will include strict provisions to control the market, including imposing penalties on real estate marketers who are not registered with the Authority, which may reach a fine or imprisonment, with the aim of reducing randomness and protecting the rights of consumers.
He pointed out that training courses will be held for marketers and real estate brokers immediately after the issuance of the regulations, which are expected to be determined during next January, in order to ensure that workers adhere to professional standards and new licensing requirements.
The Chairman of the Authority confirmed that there is a grace period of 6 months that will be granted to companies and individuals working in the sector in order to regularize their situations and register their activities in accordance with the law, stressing that the primary goal of the new decisions is to regulate the market and not to restrict serious workers in it.
