The atmosphere of excitement continued on the second day of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Open Tennis Championship in its thirty-seventh edition, which is organized by the Bahrain Tennis Club on its courts in Juffair until the twenty-fifth of this November, amid a growing presence of fans of the game and a remarkable interaction from followers who followed a series of strong confrontations in various categories.

The second day’s competitions witnessed a clear increase in the level of challenge, as signs of strength appeared early in the men’s singles category, after Ahmed Rayan recorded a victory over Abdullah Majed, and Badr Bu Ali achieved a strong presence by defeating Muhammad Muftah, while Behdan Abu Khoski continued his good performances by defeating Muhammad Mohsen, and Faisal Ahmadi presented an excellent performance that enabled him to overcome Bruno Soares. Player Imran Muhammad also emerged, who achieved a deserved victory over Ali Bouchkar, while Sami Al-Rashed confirmed his readiness for the next stages after his victory over Salman Sayyar, and Muhammad Bin Dinah was able to pass Faisal Al-Sindi in a match characterized by focus and solidity.

In the same round, both Salman Hassan and Qasim Al-Bakali recorded a direct presence after they won after their competitors, Lloyd Bermas and Ahmed Yahya, withdrew, while Joshua Jacob completed the series of strong performances in this category by defeating Jassim Al-Dosari.

As for the category of men 45 years and over, it caught the spotlight again with strong performances and confrontations full of experience and competition, as Louay Shablaq continued to provide consistent levels by defeating Ammar Al-Wazzan, and Irfan Siddiqui achieved an important victory over Baligh Al-Gharbal, while Tariq Al-Shehab presented a distinguished performance that enabled him to overcome Takanobu Aoba in a match characterized by high tactics. Sharif Sahadullah also defeated Fatih Akechi, while Mahmoud Saeed played a strong match against Muthukumaran Suresh, which he ended in his favour, and Stalin Joseph succeeded in overcoming Hassan Al-Gharbal after an equal confrontation in the first half. In the same category, Mauricio Cardoso achieved a convincing victory over Hasan Akcioglu, while Taner Demirel won his match against Fadi Al-Tawash in a clear attacking manner, while Alaa Al-Issa qualified for the next round after Bader Al-Zayani withdrew.

The results of the second day reflected the large presence of players of different ages and experiences, which consolidates the tournament’s position as one of the most prominent and attractive open tournaments in Bahrain, especially in light of the continuous support from GPIC, which represents a historical partner of this event since its first edition.
