Under the chairmanship of Mr. Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host tomorrow, Thursday, November 13, the nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National, and Nation Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, within the framework of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and integration among the Council countries, and unifying legislative positions and visions regarding regional and international issues of common interest.
The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain is headed by Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, with the participation of MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloum, MP Basma Abdul Karim Mubarak, MP Khaled Saleh Bu Anq, Ms. Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadala, Member of the Shura Council, Mr. Sadiq Eid Al Rahma, Member of the Shura Council, Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Parliament and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Mrs. Karima Muhammad Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council. The nineteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representative, National, and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries is scheduled to include the presentation of the report of the Chairman of the eighteenth regular meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representative, National, and Nation Councils, and the recommendations of the symposium on “The Legislative Role of the Legislative and Gulf Councils in Artificial Intelligence Governance: Reality, Challenges, and Future Prospects,” in addition to discussing the most prominent common Gulf topics.
The meeting will discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Shura, Representative, National and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the European Parliament through the Joint Gulf-European Parliamentary Committee. Strategies will also be developed to increase the momentum of Gulf parliamentary cooperation at several levels between various parliaments of the world, including Latin America, the Caribbean Community and Ukraine.
The meeting will conclude with the issuance of a final statement including a set of recommendations and decisions adopted by the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
