Parliament Finance discusses the agreement to develop Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Street

The House of Representatives’ Financial and Economic Affairs Committee held its meeting on Wednesday morning, headed by Representative Ahmed Sabah Al-Saloum, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of Representatives and Committee members.

Representative Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum stated that the committee met with Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, Minister of Works, to discuss draft Law No. () for the year ratifying the framework agreement regarding contributing to the financing of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Street development project (second phase) between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, attached to Decree No. (30) of 2025, and the committee decided to complete the discussion of the project in upcoming meetings.

The committee also met with representatives of the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Ministry of Interior to discuss Decree Law No. (37) of 2025 amending Article (161) of the Central Bank of Bahrain and Financial Institutions Law promulgated by Law No. (64) of 2006. The committee decided to complete the discussion of the decree in upcoming meetings.

As for reviewing the committee’s returned reports, the committee discussed the Bureau’s decision to approve the committee’s request to withdraw its report regarding the proposal with a desire to impose regulatory standards and conditions for obtaining a commercial register for craft professions for home maintenance to ensure quality of service and safety in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the committee decided to address the proposer.

The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee includes in its membership, in the fourth session of the sixth legislative term: Representative Ahmed Sabah Al-Saloum as Chairman, Representative Zainab Abdul Amir Khalil as Vice-Chairman, Representative Iman Hassan Shuwaiter as a member, Representative Basema Abdul Karim Mubarak as a member, Representative Abdullah Hassan Al-Dhaen as a member, Representative Muhammad Muhammad Al-Rifai as a member, Representative Muhammad Youssef Al-Maarafi as a member, and Representative Najeeb Hamad Al-Kuwari as a member.
