Disney and Pixar have released the first official trailer for the film Toy Story 5thus announcing the return of beloved characters such as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jesse in a new adventure that mixes nostalgia for the past with contemporary challenges imposed by technological development.

The Toy Story 5 trailer featured an unexpected showdown between the classic toys and a new enemy called Lilypad, a frog-shaped tablet that represents the invasion of technology into children’s world.
During the announcement of Toy Story 5, an interesting question was asked: Is the age of toys over?, referring to the threat that smart devices pose to the existence of traditional toys in a time when screens have become part of children’s daily lives.
In the fifth part of Toy Story, 5 stars of the original series whose voices are linked to the audience’s memories, namely Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack as Jesse. They are also joined by Greta Lee as the main villain, Lily Bud, and Conan O’Brien as the smart doll Smarty Pants, in an attempt to add a new spirit full of humor and freshness to the story.
Toy Story 5 will be officially shown in the summer of 2026, specifically on June 19, to reintroduce the series in a new spirit that combines drama, imagination, and thinking about the reality of modern childhood, in light of the dominance of technology in children’s time.
