A committee at the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Qalyubia, in cooperation with the Supply Investigation Department, was able to seize minced poultry, frozen meat of unknown origin, and sardines unfit for human consumption, with a total weight of up to 2 tons, during inspection tours of markets and places for selling, trading, and preserving meat, poultry, and fish in Obour City.
This came in implementation of the directives of His Excellency Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, under the supervision and presidency of Dr. Hani Shams El-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Veterinary Medicine in Qalyubia, and the leadership of Dr. Magdy Rady, Director of the Khanka Veterinary Department, Dr. Ayman Hisham, and Dr. Mohamed Refaat.
The committee stressed the continuation of intensive and ongoing campaigns to ensure food safety and protect the health of citizens. All necessary legal measures have been taken and the seized items have been submitted to the Public Prosecution to take the appropriate decision.
