Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sirafi, Minister of Tourism, participated in a high-level dialogue session entitled “Principles of Impactful Tourism”, within the TOURISE Summit hosted by the Saudi capital, Riyadh, between November 11 and 13, 2025, organized by the Ministry of Tourism in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the World Economic Forum, and with the participation of a number of ministers, CEOs and sector leaders from various countries of the world, to anticipate the future of tourism and enhance cooperation between governments, the private sector and civil society.
During the session, the Minister noted the importance of the Impactful Tourism Principles launched by the World Economic Forum, which represent a roadmap for achieving comprehensive and sustainable growth in the tourism sector, balancing economic, social and environmental impact. Explaining that partnerships between the public and private sectors are the basis for activating these principles and achieving a tangible impact in societies and institutions alike.
The Minister indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain is a successful model in applying these concepts, through its tourism strategy 2022-2026 and the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. She added that the close cooperation between government agencies and the private sector in the Kingdom through the “Team Bahrain” model contributed to creating an integrated tourism environment that enriches the tourism experience and enhances the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
In this context, the Minister reviewed pioneering experiences from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the most prominent of which are the Hawar Resort managed by Mantis and the Plaj Al-Jazayer development project, which reflect the success of partnerships between the public and private sectors based on trust and shared responsibility in developing sustainable tourism infrastructure, and using technology to enhance the visitors’ experience and preserve identity and heritage, in a practical translation of influential tourism principles within the Kingdom’s efforts to develop a more sustainable and innovative global tourism sector.
