Counselor Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, confirmed that the issuance of the Criminal Procedure Law today is not just a legislative achievement, but rather represents a historical milestone in the path of the modern Egyptian state, embodying the finest forms of cooperation and integration between the three state authorities.
Issuance of the Criminal Procedure Code
He said in his blog post on the X platform: This cooperation expressed a pure national will that believes that the rule of law is the solid foundation for building the new republic.
He pointed out that the Criminal Procedure Code will be a turning point in the justice system, and a gateway towards complete justice that does justice to the oppressed, establishes confidence in the judiciary, and embodies the Egyptian state’s firm commitment to protecting rights and freedoms and preserving human dignity.
Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary, Legal and Political Affairs, said that the issuance of the new criminal procedure law by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today, Wednesday, after the approval of the House of Representatives, and the disappearance of the reasons for objection to it, is an important moment that deserves to be paused at, and to thank the president for his insistence that the law be issued in the best possible form, and the most appropriate form in the interest of the citizen, in addition to the fact that what happened was a democratic exercise in its finest form, consolidating the independence of institutions in their work, and their integration to achieve the public good.
