The newly elected Board of Directors of the Bahraini Travel and Tourism Offices Association held its first meeting, during which administrative positions were distributed, and a number of topics on the meeting’s agenda were discussed.
Fatima Ahmed was chosen as Chairman of the Board of Directors, to be the first woman to chair the Association’s Board of Directors since its founding, while Mr. Sharan Deep Singh was chosen as Vice-Chairman, Mrs. Haifa Aoun as Financial Secretary, and Mr. Hamad Amin as Secretary-General, in addition to Mr. Abel Al-Khayyat, Mr. Muhammad Badr Kisko, and Mrs. Mona Al-Husseini as members of the Board of Directors.
On this occasion, Mrs. Fatima Ahmed, President of the Association, congratulated the members of the Board of Directors for gaining the confidence of the General Assembly, expressing her pride in the trust granted to them.
She said: “This assignment constitutes a great responsibility, and we pledge to work hard to advance the work of Bahraini tourism and travel offices and preserve their interests.”
She added: “Cooperation among members is the key to achieving the main goals of the association. We will work together to strengthen partnerships and develop programs that benefit all members and contribute to improving their work.”
The president of the association stressed the importance of focusing on innovation and development in the tourism sector, noting that the association will seek to provide support and guidance to members to face current challenges in the market.
She indicated that the association’s Board of Directors will discuss a number of initiatives aimed at improving the work of travel and tourism offices in Bahrain, and strengthening relations with the relevant authorities in the tourism sector in order to reduce the risks of the major challenges facing the travel and tourism office sector and affecting their work and productivity.
