Three Bahraini referees received the International White Badge at the conclusion of the International White Badge Studies Course for Tennis Referees Level 2, which concluded its activities yesterday, and which was hosted by the Bahrain Tennis Federation for the first time.
Referees Hussein Al-Saffar, Mohammed Al-Mahmoud and Ali Nassif from Bahrain received the international badge after successfully passing the practical and theoretical exams required to obtain the badge.
It is worth noting that only 7 referees, including the three Bahraini referees, were able to pass the tests and obtain the white international badge. 18 referees from different countries participated in the course, which was held over 5 days, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Pakistan, and Rwanda.
The course was presented by the lecturers, Mr. James Keothavong and Ms. Eva Asderaki Moore, who are two of the most prominent international referees who have received the Gold Badge.
On this occasion, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, congratulated the three Bahraini referees for obtaining the white international badge, praising the advanced level of the referees which qualified them to pass the requirements of the international badge. The federation also wished better luck in the upcoming sessions for the Bahraini referees and the rest of the referees who participated in the course but did not succeed in passing it.
The Bahraini Federation’s hosting of this advanced tournament highlights the federation’s commitment to enhancing the level of refereeing in tennis at the local level and raising their level of efficiency, and its keenness to develop all the main elements related to the game, including players, coaches and referees.
