Divine Providence saved the residents of the collapsed property in the Al-Gomrok area in Alexandria, which consists of 8 floors, as executive agencies evacuated the residents of the property minutes before it collapsed.
After dawn on Wednesday, the Alexandria Governorate Operations Room received a report stating that a property had collapsed on Al-Shorbagy Street in the Al-Gomrok area in the center of the governorate.
Immediately, Dr. Mohamed Salah, Assistant Secretary of the Alexandria Governorate, Major General Walid Mansour, Dr. Dareen Bassiouni, the District’s General Secretary, the security services, the warden, and officers of the Customs Police Department, moved to the scene of the incident to monitor the speed of its evacuation.
Residents were evacuated from the property minutes before the collapse, and an iron cordon was imposed around it to prevent passers-by and citizens from approaching the bottom of the property, in order to preserve the safety of lives. The collapse did not result in any casualties.
