Colombian President Gustavo Petro ordered the Colombian Public Security Forces to suspend intelligence sharing with US intelligence agencies until Washington stops attacking boats in the Caribbean, according to Reuters.

Petro said in a post on X, referring to the history of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against drug trafficking, that the fight against drugs must be subject to the human rights of the Caribbean people.
In another context, informed sources and planning documents seen by Reuters said that Venezuela is deploying weapons, including decades-old Russian-made equipment, and is planning to wage guerrilla-style resistance or spread chaos in the event of a US air or ground attack.
US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of launching ground operations in Venezuela, saying: “Land will be next” following multiple strikes targeting ships allegedly trafficking drugs in the Caribbean Sea, and a large US military buildup in the region. He later denied that he was considering launching strikes inside Venezuela.
