Kuwait hosts the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Journalists Union

Mr. Issa Al-Shayji, President of the Gulf Journalists Union, announced that the next meeting of the Union’s Board of Directors will be held in the sisterly State of Kuwait next Saturday, hosted by the Kuwait Journalists Association, indicating that this meeting comes within the framework of the Union’s keenness to strengthen cooperation between journalists’ associations in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and to develop joint journalistic work.

Al-Shaiji explained that the agenda of the meeting will include discussing a number of important topics listed, which are in the interest of male and female journalists who are members of the Union, in addition to discussing ways to develop the profession and exchange experiences between Gulf journalistic institutions. He stressed that the Union pays special attention to empowering Gulf journalistic and media cadres, and enhancing communication between member associations, bodies and centers in a way that serves the Union’s goals and keeps pace with the rapid journalistic and media changes in the region and the world.

For her part, Ms. Rabaa Hussein Makki Al-Jumaa, member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Journalists Association and Chairman of the Fourth Forum Committee, welcomed fellow members of the Board of Directors in their second country, the State of Kuwait, expressing her and her colleagues on the Board of Directors’ happiness in hosting this important Gulf journalistic event, and stressing that all preparations have been completed to receive the participating delegations and provide everything necessary for the success of the meeting and forum.

T. pointed out that this meeting will be a qualitative addition to the joint Gulf journalistic work, as it includes meetings, discussions and workshops that contribute to improving Gulf journalistic work, expressing her hope that the meeting’s outcomes will contribute to supporting Gulf journalists and unifying efforts in facing the challenges of the profession.

She added that what distinguishes this Gulf journalistic gathering is the participation of more than thirty female journalists and media professionals from all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, explaining that the Kuwait Journalists Association, which is one of the leading associations in empowering women as media journalists, believes that Gulf women are an essential partner in the process of development and prosperity in our Gulf countries and societies.

In the same context, Ms. Fadela Al-Muaini, President of the Emirates Journalists Association and Head of the Gulf Women Journalists Committee, praised this good initiative by the Kuwait Journalists Association, appreciating the efforts it is making to make this Gulf journalistic event a success.

Al-Muaini stressed that the participation of this large number of Gulf journalists and media professionals, which exceeds thirty journalists and media professionals from all the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, represents a new starting point towards strengthening and developing joint Gulf journalistic work, noting that this women’s press event, the first of its kind organized under the umbrella of the Gulf Journalists Union, reflects the spirit of cooperation and integration between journalistic work institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Al-Muaini concluded her statement by thanking and appreciating the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Journalists Association for providing all the capabilities and facilities to make this event a success, which is expected to constitute a milestone in the process of Gulf journalism and joint Gulf journalistic work.
