The matches of the seventh round of the first division competitions in the 69th edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League football competition were concluded, amid strong competition for the lead between the Al-Malikiyah and Al-Khalidiya teams, amid great anticipation from Muharraq, which reduced the difference to one point between it and the two teams.
Al-Malikiyah continued its strong performances and succeeded in strengthening its lead in the standings after raising its score to 15 points, after playing 7 matches without any defeat, achieving 4 victories and 3 draws.
The team scored 11 goals and conceded only 6 goals, confirming its technical stability and defensive solidity that made it one of the most prominent candidates to compete for the title this season.
On the other hand, Al-Khalidiya did not give up chasing Al-Malikiyah, as the team has the same score of 15 points, but it occupies second place on goal difference in favor of Al-Malikiyah. The team achieved 5 victories and suffered only two defeats, providing a great offensive performance by scoring 11 goals in seven rounds.
While Al-Muharraq, which dropped from the lead to third place, was able in this round to return to winning ways, which raised the team’s tally to 14 points, with 4 wins and 2 draws.
Al-Muharraq has a postponed match with Sitra from the sixth round, which may give it the advantage of returning to the top spot if it succeeds in achieving victory over the Sitra Battalion.
