Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, followed, from inside the main operations room in the governorate’s general office, the progress of the work of opening the electoral committees to voters on the second and final day of the first phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections, which are being conducted in accordance with the instructions of the National Elections Authority, as the voting process began at exactly nine in the morning, amid strict security measures in cooperation between the executive and security agencies and under full judicial supervision.
This came in the presence of: Mr. Bilal Habash, Deputy Governor, Major General Hazem Muhammad Ezzat, Secretary-General, Major General Ahmed Jamal al-Din, Assistant Secretary-General, Colonel Muhammad Mohsen Hashem, Deputy Military Advisor to the Governorate, Dr. Ashraf Hammad, Rapporteur of the Operations Room, and Mr. Ahmed Desouqi, Director of the Governor’s Office, along with members of the Chamber who are representatives of the executive authorities and departments concerned with the Governor’s General Office.
The governor was assured of the regular opening of committees in all centers and cities, in preparation for the start of voting, within 479 subcommittees distributed among 448 electoral headquarters, receiving more than 2 million and 96 thousand male and female voters at the governorate level. The governor also followed – via a live broadcast from the operations room – the influx of citizens to polling stations in a number of villages and cities in the governorate, to exercise their constitutional right to participate in the elections.
The governor confirmed that the executive agencies have been directed to review the readiness of the electoral headquarters, and to activate the sub-operations rooms and link them to the unified control center and the main operations room in the governorate’s general office, to ensure speedy communication and immediate handling of any observations. He pointed out that all administrative needs are provided within the committees and suitable waiting places for voters in front of the headquarters, as well as the formation of field committees to continuously visit the electoral centers to ensure their continued readiness, ensuring that the electoral process takes place in an appropriate manner that reflects the national awareness of the people of Beni Suef.
