The Zamalek delegation arrives in Cairo after losing the Egyptian Super Cup to Al-Ahly
The delegation moved from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, before heading directly to Cairo after the end of the tournament.
Engineer Hisham Nasr, Vice President of Zamalek Club, headed the first football team’s delegation to the Emirates.
Ahmed Abdel Raouf, the temporary coach of Zamalek, decided to give the team’s players a passive rest for 4 days after the end of the team’s campaign in the Egyptian Super Cup, with the players resuming their group training next Friday, in preparation for the resumption of the season’s competitions after the current international break.
Cairo 24 learned that the technical staff of Zamalek decided to grant this rest with the aim of resting the players physically and mentally, especially after the pressure of matches during the last period, as the team played more than one strong confrontation in a short time, the last of which was in the Egyptian Super Championship against Al-Ahly.
Zamalek had lost the Egyptian Super Cup title after defeating Al-Ahly with two unanswered goals, in the match that brought together the two teams in the Emirates, despite the good performance provided by the players in some periods of the match.
The loss comes days after Zamalek’s difficult victory over Pyramids in the semi-finals, after a marathon match that ended in a penalty shootout with a score of 5-4 after a goalless draw in regular time.
