Dar Al-Iftaa said that Islam urged Muslims at every time and place to be truthful and trustworthy and to abandon lying and betrayal, and commanded the Muslim to fulfill trusts in all their types and forms. The Almighty said: “Indeed, God commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners.” [النساء: 58]There is no doubt that Shura is the democracy in which the members of society must be educated to be honest and honest, and Shura is necessary and obligatory among the members of the nation to choose the elements of their legislative authority, and whoever has the authority to perform this trust must cast his electoral vote and not delay in performing this duty honestly, honestly, impartially and objectively, as well as coinciding with the start of the elections for the House of Representatives.
Ruling on abstaining from participating in the elections
Dar Al-Iftaa added on its official website in a previous fatwa: The one who abstains from casting his electoral vote is a sin according to Sharia law, as is the one who pushes the holder of the certificate to go against his conscience or not adhere to complete honesty in his testimony by any means. Likewise, whoever assumes a name other than his own and casts his vote in place of the holder of the impersonated name is committing fraud and forgery that is punishable by Sharia law.
She stressed that whoever has the authority to perform this trust in Shura and democracy, according to modern and Arab terminology, to cast his electoral vote, must not delay in performing this duty honestly, honestly, impartially, and objectively until we put the right man in the right place, and that this be far from destructive fanaticism, flattery, fraud, deception, blackmail, violence, coercion, and forgery, and that it be the leader of all that the interest of the nation is above personal interests, and preventing the casting of the vote is to conceal the testimony that God has commanded us to perform. And negativity is abhorred and forbidden by Islam. According to the saying of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family: “Do not be a fool; You say: If people do good, we will do good, and if they do wrong, we will do wrong, but be at peace with yourselves. If people do good, then do good, and if they do evil, do not do wrong. Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.
