British Prince George, 12 years old, attended for the first time on Saturday the annual commemoration of soldiers who fell on the battlefields, accompanied by his mother, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his grandfather, King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The audience stood as a military band began to play as the royal family arrived and headed to its cabin in the famous Royal Albert Hall.

Crown Prince William, who had just returned from the COP30 climate conference in Brazil, was absent.

George is William’s eldest son and second in line to the throne.

The Royal Legion, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families, organizes the Festival of Remembrance annually to honor the sacrifices made by the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces.

The celebration witnessed the recitation of testimonies, soldiers’ stories, prayers, and musical performances, including Rod Stewart, in the presence of Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife, Victoria.

This year’s ceremony marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 25th anniversary of the lifting of the ban on LGBT people serving in the British Armed Forces.

The royal family will also gather on Sunday for the traditional Remembrance Day celebration in honor of soldiers who have fallen in war.
