Pope Tawadros II and the Governor of Giza inaugurated a number of service and social projects on October 6

Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, and His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Mark, participated in the opening and laying of the foundation stone for a number of service and social projects in 6th of October City.

The events began with the Governor of Giza welcoming His Holiness Pope Tawadros II to the governorate, praising the national and societal role of the church and the service and development projects it provides in the fields of education, health and social care, stressing that serving the citizen is the common goal that brings together the executive branch of the governorate, religious institutions and civil society institutions within a framework of partnership and national responsibility.

The activities included laying the foundation stone for Sindh Hospital next to the October and Osim Archdiocese, and the opening of the Virgin Mary School, the Hero Dialysis Center, the Roman Hero Specialized Clinics, and the Ark Roof Sports and Social Club, in the Haram City and Al-Fardous areas in the October Gardens and 6th of October cities.

The Governor of Giza stressed that the projects are a qualitative addition to the service, social and health sectors in the governorate, and are consistent with the state’s directions in supporting initiatives and projects that benefit citizens in various areas of life.

The governor added that Giza Governorate is keen to strengthen cooperation with all state institutions, the church, and civil society institutions to serve the citizen, stressing that serving humanity is the common goal that brings everyone together within a framework of partnership and national responsibility.

This came in the presence of Ibrahim Al-Shehabi, Deputy Governor, Bishop Domadius, Bishop of the Diocese of October and Osim, Mohamed Nour El-Din, General Secretary of the Governorate, Mohamed Marei, Assistant General Secretary, and a number of executive and church leaders.
