Exciting victories in the Pocket Cups and a distinctive crowd atmosphere in the second horse race

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, and His Highness Sheikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Vice President of the Supreme Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club organized the second race of the 2025/2026 horse racing season, which was held on Gulf Industrial Company cups. Petrochemical Company “GPIC”, and the late Abdul Hadi Al-Afo Cup, at the club race track in the Al-Raffa area.

The race was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and a number of Their Highnesses, prominent figures and representatives of the race’s sponsors.

The evening of the second race witnessed a distinguished audience presence that interacted with the exciting competitions witnessed in the race rounds, in addition to enjoying the various entertainment activities accompanying the race, which added an atmosphere of enthusiasm for everyone in a special evening that keeps pace with the organizational successes and embodies the prominent development witnessed by the horse racing season at Rashid Club.

The winners were crowned with race cups, as His Highness Sheikh Sultan Al-Din bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the seventh-inning cup from Engineer Fadel Al-Ansari, Executive Advisor to the Gulf Petrochemical Manufacturing Company. Then Engineer Badr Al-Mansouri, Director of Factory Operations at the Gulf Petrochemical Manufacturing Company, presented the ninth-inning cup to the winning racer, Paul Smith, while Engineer Yasser Al-Abbasi, CEO of the Gulf Petrochemical Manufacturing Company, presented the third-inning cup to the winning owner, Sayyed Jawad Marzouq.

Mr. Abdul Redha Al-Affo, General Manager of Al-Affo Company, also presented the late Abdul-Hadi Al-Affo cup to the winning owner, Aqeel Abdel-Rahim.

The race included nine rounds:

The first half: The horse “Kahilan Al Adiyat 1894” continued its victories, recording the first victories for Victorious Forever Stables in the Bahrain Purebred Arabian Horse “Wahoo” races for this season.

The second half: The mare “Call Me Maybe” achieved her first victory and dedicated the first victory to the new owner, Talal Al-Hajji, after an exciting competition witnessed in the half that was held for the horses of the Balance Race, “Bahrain Production,” and witnessed the largest participation in the race.

The third half: The horse “Shandagha” excelled and snatched the victory in the Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company Cup for novice horses, “Imported,” after a strong performance that sealed the victory in the final meters, dedicating the first victory to Al-Sharq Stable this season.

The fourth half: The horse “Royan” was able to snatch the cup of the late Abdul Hadi Al-Afo after a distinguished performance led by the jockey Abdul Rahim Jassim.

Fifth half: The King of the Valley Racing horse, Knight, gave a wonderful performance after his sudden start in the final meters.

Sixth round: The mare “Miss Yvonne” achieved her first victory this season, led by the brilliant trained rider Hussein Asghar, who proved her abilities by outperforming the imported horses of the round.

The seventh round: The horse “Phoenix Passion” added a second victory for the Mohammedia stable in the race, led by the brilliant jockey Hussein Asghar, to win the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company Cup.

The eighth round: The horse “Sinjar” regained its victories and presented the owner, His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, with his first victory of the season after a strong performance that settled the exciting competition witnessed in the final meters.

The ninth and final round: The mare, “The Blueledee,” owned by M&E Racing, clinched the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company Cup in the main round after her strong entry in the final round, marking the end of the exciting competitions witnessed in the race.
