The Engineers Syndicate Council held a meeting yesterday, Saturday, to discuss some files and issues, and issued several decisions after the meeting ended.
Details of the decisions of the Engineers Syndicate Council
The Council agreed to submit a report to the Public Prosecution against the union’s former lawyer in the Jotun file (Amr & Partners office), accusing him of suspicion of collusion in facilitating the seizure of public money, due to amending the union’s requests before the Economic Court in Cairo regarding the objection to increasing the company’s capital, which led to the court not considering the item waived by the lawyer. Note that the head of the Engineers Syndicate has filed a complaint against him with the Bar Association.
The Council also agreed to submit a report to the Public Prosecution against the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jotun Company in Egypt, the members of the Board of Directors who are representatives of the Norwegian company Jotun, the General Manager of the company, and the Financial Director of the company for deception and fraud in order to seize the union’s percentage of the company’s public funds.
He agreed to suspend the employees of the Investment Department at the General Syndicate of Engineers from work and refer them for investigation, for neglecting to carry out their duties, whether intentionally or negligently, in dealing with the Jotun company file, and to refer the Director of the Investment Department at the General Syndicate of Engineers to the Public Prosecution.
In addition to agreeing to submit a complaint against the Board of Directors of Jotun Egypt to the Board of Directors of Jotun’s parent company in Norway, and agreeing to seek the assistance of major specialized legal offices to assist the office of Prof. Dr. Sami Abdel Baqi – the cassation lawyer, professor of commercial law, representative of the Cairo Law School, and former advisor to the Capital Market Authority, in the case brought by the union against Jotun Company.
He agreed to pay the rest of the dues for the two plots of land of the Aswan Sub-Association of Engineers (in the New Aswan City Development Authority) to complete the receipt procedures, and to adjust the amount for purchasing a plot of land in Sharkia to establish a club that serves the governorate’s engineers, on an area of five acres.
While he agreed to amend the purchase amount of a plot of land in Shebin El-Kom to establish a club serving the governorate’s engineers, on an area of five acres, and he approved the proposal submitted by the Alexandria Sub-Syndicate of Engineers regarding the Land of Swords and the Engineers City Club in Borg El Arab.
