The Roads Administration in the Central District of Alexandria continued the excavation work for soil cores for the Alexandria Tram Rehabilitation Project, starting from the Raml Station.

The work began about a week ago on a daily basis and will continue for more than the next two months, with concerted efforts between the Roads Directorate and the Gas, Water, Electricity, and Sanitation Company.
In statements to Cairo 24, Major General Ahmed Shaaban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Transport Authority in Alexandria, explained that the tram will continue to operate in parallel with the work of the trams.
Shaaban denied setting a date to stop work, indicating that no date has been set yet. He noted that the project is affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, represented by the Metro Authority, confirming that a decision has been issued to hand over the facility while continuing to manage the tram until a statement is issued by the Ministry of Transport.
