The Supply Directorate in Assiut Governorate, in coordination with the sub-supply departments, launched intensive ration campaigns that included various parts of the governorate, in implementation of the directives of Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, and Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and based on the instructions of Mr. Khaled Muhammad Ahmed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, regarding tightening control over ration establishments, controlling markets, and confronting any manipulation of prices or subsidized goods.
465 reports were issued for municipal bakeries and markets during large-scale campaigns in the centres
The campaigns resulted in the seizure of 4,470 expired paint containers, and gas stations, for discharging and collecting 48,425 tons of diesel and gasoline, and the seizure of 1,412 kilograms of meat, poultry, liver, and processed products unfit for human consumption, slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, and 468 ration cards inside a bakery that were collected in violation of the law, and the seizure of expired food commodities, and agricultural pesticides. And expired veterinary medicines.
An attempt to sell 8 packages of subsidized local flour on the black market was thwarted, reports were issued to bakeries that disposed of 119 packages of local flour, 4 return packages without invoices were seized, and 13 closure reports were issued to catering merchants.
7 reports were issued for not announcing the prices of food supplies, 6 reports were issued for not announcing the prices of butane cylinders, 4 reports were issued for selling cigarettes at more than the official price, 12 reports were issued for managing establishments without a license, and 13 reports were issued for not announcing the prices in shops, cafes, and restaurants.
In the field of bakeries, 399 reports were issued for municipal bakeries, which varied between: lack of loaf weight, production of bread that did not meet specifications, lack of cleanliness of production tools, lack of an advertising data board, partial cessation of work, lack of a scale in the bakery, disposal of quantities of flour, and failure to deliver a package to citizens.
The Supply Directorate in Assiut confirmed the continuation of its daily campaigns to control markets, ensure that support reaches those who deserve it, and follow up on the compliance of bakeries and catering establishments with the laws and instructions regulating work.
