The training session, which was held on Friday, November 7, witnessed the attendance of about 23,000 fans, who expressed their great admiration for the major developments in the team’s historic stronghold, whose construction began in 1957 and was completed in 1982.

This step comes before the completion of the works, which aim to expand the stadium to accommodate 105,000 spectators, to become one of the largest stadiums in the world. Although the work is still ongoing, the fans expressed their astonishment at the changes that occurred in the stadium, as some expressed their influence by the memories and strong feelings that that moment aroused.

German coach Hansi Flick led his team’s first training session in the new stadium, in the presence of the team’s most prominent players such as Lamin Yamal, Dani Olmo, in addition to Fermin Lopez and Pau Cobarsi, goalkeeper Juan Garcia and defender Eric Garcia after they recovered from injuries.

The training session was also attended by club president Joan Laporta and vice-presidents Rafa Yuste and Elena Forte, in addition to sporting director Deco, who pointed out that this is an exciting and special day for Barcelona fans.

According to Vice President Elena Forte’s statements, the stadium is expected to be fully opened in September 2026, with the addition of three huge screens in the ceiling, which will make the experience even more exciting for fans.
