The launch of the International Public Health Conference and Exhibition with wide participation of experts and specialists

His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the International Public Health Conference and Exhibition reflects the Kingdom’s continued interest in developing the health services system, enhancing scientific dialogue and exchanging experiences between specialists at the regional and international levels, which contributes to consolidating sustainable health security.

His Excellency pointed out that the conference constitutes an important platform to unify efforts and develop proactive and effective health policies, stressing that public health represents the first line of defense for societies and an investment in human capital, in line with the goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

This came during the opening of the activities of the International Public Health Conference and Exhibition, organized by the Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health during the period from 6 to 7 November 2025 AD at the Gulf Convention Center at the Gulf Hotel, with the wide participation of experts, specialists and researchers in the field of public health from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and regional and international countries, and with the distinguished participation of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control, in the presence of a number of senior officials.

His Excellency pointed out that the health system in the Kingdom enjoys the support and attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and through the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, which reflects the keenness to develop the health sector and improve its outcomes.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa explained that the participation of an elite group of speakers and experts from various parts of the world embodies the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as an effective center for regional and international health dialogue, enhances its efforts in building flexible and innovative health systems, and contributes to raising the level of preventive and curative services.

His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Health in organizing this scientific event, which represents an important platform for discussing the most prominent current health issues and anticipating the future of public health.

For her part, Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayyid Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, confirmed that holding the conference comes in light of the great interest of His Majesty the King, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, which confirm the keenness to develop the health sector and enhance its role in the process of sustainable national development.

Her Excellency indicated that the conference embodies the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain in strengthening the preventive health system, and reflects the keenness to raise the readiness of the health system to face challenges and achieve health security for all members of society, stressing that the conference’s outcomes will be an important tributary to the development of national health policies, and appreciating the prominent role of the Supreme Council of Health in supporting developmental and innovative programs.

Dr. Samia Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Conference President, also explained that organizing this first event of its kind in the Kingdom comes in response to the growing global challenges in the field of public health, whether related to chronic or infectious diseases, mental health, and environmental pressures.

She stressed that the conference aims to enhance cooperation between decision-makers, experts and researchers through its scientific sessions and workshops, which seek to crystallize realistic and innovative solutions to build flexible and comprehensive health systems.

At its conclusion, the conference aims to formulate strategic recommendations that contribute to consolidating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as an advanced regional center in the field of public health and prevention, enhancing the capabilities of national cadres, and building flexible and innovative health systems that support the goals of sustainable development and Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.

It is worth noting that the conference continues until Friday, November 7, 2025, and the scientific program includes more than 50 lectures presented by 45 speakers, including 16 accredited educational hours, in addition to specialized workshops held on the third day, to discuss topics including preventive health, health planning, global health security, and modern technologies in public health.
