Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inaugurated today; Al-Mansour Factory for manufacturing vehicle and industrial filters, in 10th of Ramadan City, in the presence of Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia, Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance for Financial Policies, Sir Mohamed Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mansour Automotive Group, Ankush Arora, CEO of the group, and a number of company leaders and industrialists.
The Prime Minister inaugurates the Al-Mansour Filters Factory
Mansour explained that this industrial edifice comes within the framework of the state’s plan to implement the national program to localize the automobile industry and support its feeding industries, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian industry and supporting export to regional and international markets.
He added that the new factory is one of the leading industrial projects that serves the industrial sector as a whole, and seeks to localize the local industry, increase the local component, and reduce dependence on imports, as its production capacity reaches 15 million filters annually for various types of vehicles and industrial filters, with investments exceeding half a billion Egyptian pounds (about 11 million US dollars).
He pointed out that Al-Mansour Group is implementing a long-term strategy to develop the automobile and vehicle sector in Egypt, and this factory is a true model of the integration of our role as a private sector with the role of the state to support the slogan “Made in Egypt” and move from the import stage to the manufacturing stage and then export, with the aim of developing the national economy, attracting investments, creating job opportunities for Egyptian youth, and developing their expertise.
For his part, Ankush Arora, CEO of Al Mansour Automotive Group, explained that the opening of this factory comes within the framework of the group’s celebrations of the 50th anniversary of its work in the Egyptian market.
He pointed out that the construction of the new factory relied on elements of environmental sustainability by saving energy, and within the application of the highest international quality standards, through the factory’s own quality testing laboratory to ensure efficiency in operation and competitive quality of filters.
Engineer Tarek Atta, CEO of MAC Filter Manufacturing Company, said that the factory is a model for manufacturing a high-quality local component, manufactured by Egyptian hands and with international standards, and represents a pivotal step towards increasing the proportion of the local component and reducing dependence on imports in the automotive sector. We also aspire to achieve an export rate of 35% of the total local production to foreign markets by 2027, thus enhancing the position of the national industry on the regional and international export map.
