Dr. Mohamed Al-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, inspected Al-Hammam Central Hospital in Matrouh Governorate, accompanied by Dr. Islam Rajab, Deputy Governor, as part of monitoring performance within health facilities and ensuring the hospital’s readiness to provide distinguished medical services to citizens.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the Deputy Minister began his tour by inspecting the emergency and reception departments, where he followed the speed of service provision for critical cases and medical triage mechanisms, and reviewed the medical equipment and the availability of the necessary supplies and medicines inside the emergency cabinet.
The official spokesman added that the Deputy Minister inspected the safety and infection control procedures inside the hospital, and reviewed the fire extinguishers and emergency systems to ensure their suitability and readiness, stressing the importance of continuous training for medical and administrative teams to deal with various emergencies.
Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the tour included visits to operating rooms, laboratories, and radiology to ensure the availability of all services, and followed the technical readiness of medical devices and technologies used in diagnosis and treatment, in addition to reviewing the workers’ commitment to applying quality standards.
During the tour, the Deputy Minister listened to a number of patients and their families, to learn about their evaluation of the level of services provided, and directed the hospital administration to continuously work to improve the patients’ experience and facilitate their access to the service in the shortest possible time, in addition to raising the efficiency of the human resources and providing them with the required training.
He pointed out that the Deputy Minister inspected the pharmacy and reviewed the stock of medicines, directing that the list of vital items be periodically updated, ensure the availability of treatment for citizens, and follow up on dispensing mechanisms in order to achieve optimal use of the medicine.
He continued that the tour included an inspection of the intensive care, inpatient and nursery departments, where he followed the health status of the patients and was keen to listen to the applied treatment protocols. He directed that the highest levels of care be provided, especially for critical cases and children inside nurseries.
