The Qalyubia Supply Directorate carried out expanded campaigns in the areas of Qaha, the East Shubra Al-Khaimah district, Qalyoub, Toukh, Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya, Banha, and the West Shubra Al-Khaimah district, which included visits to bakeries, shops, markets, and mills.
The campaign efforts resulted in the issuance of 63 various catering violations, which included violations (production of underweight bread – lack of clean kneading tools – production of bread that does not conform to specifications – disposal of 2 packages of subsidized local flour – lack of an operating menu – failure to announce prices – closing bakeries during official working hours without permission – lack of a scale – selling at more than the official price), where 50 packs of cigarettes were seized that were sold at irregular prices.
The Directorate’s Grain Maintenance Department also visited one of the mills in the West Shubra Al-Kheima neighborhood, to review the balances of flour and wheat and withdraw samples for examination, in addition to conducting a “jashn” on the weight of the flour bag to ensure compliance with the legal weight.
The Qalyubia Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of its surprise inspection campaigns on bakeries, markets and all commercial activities, to arrest violators, maintain the quality of goods provided to citizens, and protect food security in the governorate.
