Our national team enters the tournament with high ambition and a great desire to compete, especially after the historic achievement it achieved in
Last June, it won the Asian Volleyball Cup, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, confirming its position as one of the best teams on the Asian continent.
The team’s technical staff, led by French coach Arnaud Gosserand, relies on a group of the team’s most prominent stars who emerged in the recent Asian Championship, led by Nasser Annan, Mahmoud Al-Afia and Mahmoud Abdel-Wahed, in addition to a group of distinguished players who form the backbone of the team in this important participation.
Our team concluded its preparations on Tuesday evening by participating in a major training session during which the coach focused on the tactical aspects and organizing the offensive and defensive play, seeking to achieve an ideal start in the tournament against the Iranian team before the expected confrontation against the host Saudi team next Saturday, within the group that is considered one of the strongest in the competitions.
Our team’s participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games is a new opportunity to confirm the remarkable development that Bahraini volleyball has witnessed in recent years, and to highlight the bright face of Bahraini sports in regional and international forums.
