As part of its pioneering initiative ‘Trees for Life’, which is a milestone in afforestation and sustainability efforts at the private sector level in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stc Bahrain, the digital enabler, announced the launch of an initiative to plant a thousand trees in cooperation with the Municipality of the Southern Region.

This cooperation confirms the company’s diligent keenness to promote the principles of environmental sustainability and community partnership, and to support municipal projects aimed at expanding the green area in various regions of the Kingdom.

This initiative is an extension of the ‘Trees for Life’ campaign, which constituted a milestone in supporting national afforestation efforts, as planting trees in Madinat Zayed is part of a series of projects implemented by the company in cooperation with the Municipality of the Southern Region with the aim of increasing green spaces and developing public places. Additional afforestation projects will be implemented in a number of vital sites in various regions in the coming months, which will contribute to achieving a healthy, sustainable environment in the Kingdom.

In this context, Sheikh Ziyad Al Khalifa, Vice President of Government Affairs at stc Bahrain, said: “We are proud to cooperate with the Municipality of the Southern Region to activate the participation of new community segments within the ‘Trees for Life’ campaign. This step also reflects our firm commitment to preserving the environment through fruitful partnerships that aim to achieve sustainable development. Joining together is the path towards a greener and more sustainable future for future generations.”

It is worth noting that stc Bahrain seeks to expand the scope of its partnerships within its environmental campaign ‘Trees for Life’, to include municipalities, schools and private institutions, ensuring the continuation of afforestation projects throughout the year. It also supports national afforestation plans aimed at expanding the green area in the Kingdom by the year 2035 AD, in line with the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving zero neutrality by 2060 AD.
