Today, Tuesday, the Red Sea Criminal Court is witnessing a sentencing session against the accused of killing his ex-wife inside a school located north of the city of Hurghada, after referring his papers to His Eminence the Mufti, in order to state the legal opinion in sentencing him to death, on charges of premeditated murder in Case No. 19143, Hurghada Felonies.
Details of the incident
The summer before last, the city of Hurghada witnessed one of the most heinous crimes that shook public opinion, after a teacher loaned to one of the Arab countries killed his ex-wife by stabbing him inside the walls of the distinguished public neighborhoods language school in the north of the city, while she was on her way to submit their daughter’s papers to enroll in kindergarten, in a tragic scene whose details were followed by parents and students.
Investigations into the case included the decision of the First Public Prosecutor of the Red Sea Prosecution Office to refer the accused to the Criminal Court on charges of premeditated murder.
During the investigations, the prosecution heard the accused’s statements that due to family disputes and the victim’s work in Hurghada, he warned her more than once to stop working in Hurghada and she refused to respond, and that he came from Minya to Hurghada a few days ago, and that he stabbed her with a knife that he was hiding, and that as soon as he learned that the victim was heading to the school to apply for their child’s kindergarten placement in the school, he waited for her in front of the school, and the accused was able to enter the school and assault the victim by stabbing her in the neck until She died, leaving her drowned in blood.
However, a number of parents, who rushed to try to save her to no avail, were able to control and arrest the accused before he attempted to escape, and handed him over to the police along with the crime tool.
The competent authorities ordered the accused to be detained pending investigation, with his detention to be renewed in several sessions, until the decision to refer him to the Criminal Court is issued, leading to the ruling to refer him to the Mufti in preparation for issuing the death sentence against him in today’s session, Tuesday.
