Mr. Yousef Mohammed Al-Binkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and member of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Asian Youth Games – Bahrain 2025, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has presented an integrated media model that reflects the development of the media infrastructure and the high professional level of national media cadres, through comprehensive and distinguished coverage of the tournament, which embodies the Ministry of Information’s approach towards advancing sports media and enhancing the Kingdom’s presence regionally and internationally.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information explained that the success of the coverage came as a result of the integrated work of a team of more than 500 members of the Ministry’s cadres and supporting companies, including more than 150 media professionals from the Ministry of Information. The technical, production and engineering teams worked in harmony to ensure the implementation of an expanded broadcast plan from various sports sites.
Regarding television broadcasting, Al-Binkhalil confirmed that the coverage was based on an advanced technical system that enabled the implementation of a live broadcast exceeding 800 hours from 22 sports sites using 101 cameras, 4 broadcast vehicles, and 22 mobile transmission systems, under the supervision of more than 250 specialists. The latest cloud broadcasting technologies, satellites and SRT systems were also used, in cooperation with Amazon Cloud Services (AWS Bahrain), which allowed the competitions to be broadcast to 9 Asian sports channels, in addition to Bahrain TV.
Al-Binkhalil pointed out that digital coverage achieved record numbers, as views on social platforms exceeded 130 million views, with more than 3,000 digital publications produced and published, and more than 1.1 million hours of viewing recorded on the official tournament channel on YouTube. Artificial intelligence solutions were employed in content management and interaction analysis.
Al-Binkhalil also reviewed the success of the “Asia Nights” program, which spanned 13 episodes with a total of more than 20 broadcast hours, included more than 70 television reports and 50 digital materials, and hosted more than 95 guests in the studio and event sites.
He concluded by stressing that this success reflects the continued investment in developing the national media system and qualifying Bahraini cadres, and that the Ministry is continuing to promote digital transformation and employ modern technologies in the media content industry, in a way that supports the Kingdom of Bahrain’s growing role in hosting and implementing major sporting events.
