The Ministry of Foreign Affairs approves the decree-law on combating money laundering and submits its report to the Council’s office

The Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee of the House of Representatives held its meeting today, Monday, headed by His Excellency Representative Hassan Eid Bu Khammas, and in the presence of Their Excellencies the Representatives and members of the committee.

During the meeting, the committee discussed a number of topics and decided to approve them and submit their report to the office, which are as follows:

Decree Law No. (36) of 2025 amending some provisions of Decree Law No. (4) of 2001 regarding prohibiting and combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

A draft law ratifying the Host Country Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, attached to Decree No. (39) of 2025.

A draft law amending some provisions of the Public Security Forces Law promulgated by Decree Law No. (3) of 1982, attached to Decree No. (26) of 2025.

The committee also decided to postpone a decision on the proposal out of a desire for the esteemed government to work to limit the use of vehicles called “tuk-tuks” on public streets and roads.

The Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee will be formed during the fourth regular session of the sixth legislative term of representatives: Representative Hassan Eid Bu Khammas (Chairman), Representative Abdullah Khalifa Al Rumaihi (Vice-Chairman), Representative Walid Jaber Al-Dosari (Member), Representative Maryam Saleh Al-Dhaen (Member), Representative Jamil Mulla Hassan (Member), Representative Maryam Hassan Al-Sayegh (Member), and Representative Hassan Ibrahim Hassan (Member).
