Through its annual hosting of the “Manama Dialogue” Forum, the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to affirm its pivotal role in consolidating the concept of dialogue as a means of achieving security and stability in the region and the world. The forum, which was launched more than two decades ago, has become an intellectual and diplomatic platform that brings together decision-makers and experts from various countries to discuss regional and international challenges, and formulate realistic approaches to dealing with them.
In its twenty-first edition this year, the forum came under the title “Regional Power and Statecraft in Light of Global Changes,” to confirm that the concept of power is no longer limited to military aspects, but rather includes good governance, an integrated economy, and cooperation based on common interests.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Commander of the Royal Guard, on behalf of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, delivered a speech in which he highlighted Bahrain’s firm vision in supporting security and peace, and the importance of stability as a basic condition for achieving sustainable development, pointing to the forum’s high international standing as a platform that brings together leaders and experts to exchange visions and build bridges of cooperation.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also stressed, in his intervention, that comprehensive security can only be achieved through collective action and mutual understanding, explaining that Bahrain believes that dialogue is the best way to resolve disputes, and that Gulf economic integration constitutes a basic pillar of regional security.
He touched on the importance of international partnerships, waterway security, and cooperation in the fields of energy and cybersecurity, stressing the close interrelationship between security, prosperity and development.
The forum’s activities this year witnessed an expansion in its themes, as its sessions addressed issues of the future of global governance and security, and the impact of artificial intelligence and the transformation of energy sources on the stability of countries, which reflects the development of the forum in keeping pace with global transformations and proposing practical approaches to confront them.
Perhaps one of the most prominent features of the “Manama Dialogue 2025” this year is the remarkable presence of prominent international political figures from various continents, who came to Manama to discuss the challenges facing the region and the world, in a scene that reflects the growing international confidence in the Bahraini role. This in itself is evidence that Manama has truly become the “capital of regional dialogue and security,” and a center for the convergence of visions and the formulation of initiatives that contribute to the stability of the region and the balance of its policies.
The continuation of the “Manama Dialogue” with this strong participation and rich discussions reflects the prestigious position that the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys in its regional and international environment, and its effective role in promoting dialogue and understanding between nations.
