Salman bin Mohammed praises the resounding success of Bahrain’s hosting and organizing of the “Asian Youth Games”

His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, praised the remarkable success achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting and organizing the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, which were held during the period from 22 to 31 October 2025, with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 24 games.

His Highness stressed that what Bahrain has achieved in terms of achievement and distinction would not have been possible without the support and care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and nurture this historic event, which contributed to providing all the ingredients and the ideal environment for the success of the session at all levels.

His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised the distinguished efforts made by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Third Asian Youth Games, which played a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional organization and distinguished logistical preparations, in a way that reflects the ambitious national vision in consolidating Bahrain’s position in Asian and international sports.

His Highness pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s organization of this major continental event was not limited only to the sporting competition aspect, but also contributed to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a distinguished destination for hosting international sports tournaments, and highlighting its organizational and logistical efficiency, which reflects the development of sports infrastructure and the high readiness of all facilities and stadiums.

His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed his great pride in the achievements made by the national teams, especially in the combat games, which witnessed great development in terms of technical and professional performance, and achieved distinguished results that contributed to strengthening the Bahraini presence on continental platforms. He explained that the combat games in this participation added tangible successes to Bahrain’s medal tally, as it won 7 colored medals out of 15 medals, by 4 medals were won by the mixed martial arts team (3 golds and a silver medal), a silver medal by the pencak silat team, and two bronze medals by the jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai teams, which reflects the advanced level that combat sports have reached in the Kingdom.

His Highness stressed that the distinguished results of the national teams in martial arts reflect the qualitative development witnessed by these sports in Bahrain, where a large base of young talent has become capable of competing and achieving achievements, which reflects the Kingdom’s vision of building sporting generations capable of raising the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain high in various international forums.

His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa concluded his statement by emphasizing that this success constitutes an incentive for more achievements in combat sports, and that efforts will continue to support them and develop the national federations and all members of these sports. His Highness expressed his pride in what the Bahraini champions achieved in this great continental participation, and the efforts of all workers in the national federations and the technical and administrative crews, who contributed to achieving impressive results in the distinguished organization of combat sports competitions and achieving honorable results, wishing His Highness more success.
