Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayyed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, received Dr. Asad Hafeez, Acting Representative of the World Health Organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Head of the Country Office. During the meeting, the Minister of Health stressed the depth of the strategic partnership and close cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the World Health Organization, and the resulting pioneering initiatives that contributed to strengthening the national health care system and raising its efficiency, especially in the areas of epidemiological control, preparedness for health emergencies and developing national competencies. Her Excellency explained that this partnership represents an essential foundation for exchanging experiences and adopting the best international practices supporting the achievement of sustainable health development goals. The meeting also discussed a number of joint initiatives and projects, including documenting health success stories in the Kingdom of Bahrain, participating in the Bahrain International Public Health Conference, in addition to enhancing the areas of training and preparedness for health emergencies, which reflects the keenness of both sides to consolidate integration between national and international efforts in the health field. For his part, Dr. Asad Hafeez expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency The Minister of Health and all Ministry officials for their continued cooperation in implementing joint health plans and programmes, stressing the World Health Organization’s keenness to continue strengthening cooperation and partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various health fields.
