Trials x week| Supporting the execution of the accused in the European Rif Massacre and the imprisonment of Jordanian Susie

During the past few days, the courts issued many rulings and decisions that attracted the attention of many readers in Egypt and abroad this week.

In this context, Cairo provides 24 bulletins and a status book of the judicial file, and the latest news of the trials that have been decided, and which were also postponed to a previous time.

Highlights of the week’s trials

Among the latest case news were: the cassation upheld the death sentence for the accused in the European Rif massacre, imprisonment of Mido for a month and a fine of 20,000 pounds on charges of disturbing Mahmoud al-Banna, imprisonment of Otaka, Hadir Abdel Razek’s ex-husband, for 6 months, imprisonment of Jordanian Susie for a year with hard work and a fine of 100,000 pounds, imprisonment of 3 years for a traffic boy and others in the case of assaulting a student with a baseball bat, and rejection of appeals calling for the assembly to be invalidated. The General Assembly of Al-Ahly Club, and finally upholding the 6-month imprisonment of Saad Al-Saghir in the drug case.

The cassation upholds the death sentence for the accused in the European countryside massacre

The Court of Cassation ruled to uphold the death sentence against the accused in the case known in the media as the European Rif Massacre, No. 2290 of 2022, Second Division Felony, Sheikh Zayed, registered under No. 476 of 2022, 6th of October, against the accused Atef Mahmoud Ismail, the perpetrator of the crime.

Mido was imprisoned for a month and fined 20,000 pounds on charges of disturbing Mahmoud Al-Banna

The Economic Court ruled that Ahmed Hossam Mido be imprisoned for a month, given a bail of 5,000 pounds to suspend the execution of the sentence, and fined him 20,000 pounds and civil compensation of 10,000 pounds on charges of disturbing Mahmoud Al-Banna and defaming him.

Ahmed Al-Adawi, Mahmoud Al-Banna’s lawyer, said in statements to Cairo 24 that he claimed a civil claim for one million pounds against Ahmed Hossam Mido, accusing him of defaming his client on social media.

Otaka, Hadir Abdel Razek’s ex-husband, was imprisoned for 6 months

The Economic Court ruled that blogger Otaka, Hadeer Abdel Razek’s ex-husband, be imprisoned for 6 months and fined him one million pounds on charges of promoting and trading in cryptocurrencies.

Jordanian Susie was imprisoned for one year with hard labor and fined 100,000 pounds

The Economic Court ruled to imprison the Jordanian blogger Suzy for one year, to fine her 100,000 pounds, and to confiscate the seized items on charges of misusing social media sites and violating Egyptian family values.

3 years imprisonment for a traffic boy and others in a case of assaulting a student with a baseball bat

The South Cairo Misdemeanor Court sentenced the accused, known in the media as the Traffic Kid, and two others to 3 years in prison, on the grounds that they were accused of displaying force and violence and assaulting a student and injuring him with a baseball stick in front of a school in Mokattam.

Appeals demanding the invalidation of the Al-Ahly Club General Assembly were rejected

The Administrative Court of the State Council decided to reject the appeals demanding the invalidation of the Al-Ahly Club’s last general assembly.

Saad Al-Saghir’s 6-month imprisonment sentence in the drug case was upheld

The Court of Cassation rejected the appeal submitted by Saad Al-Saghir against his 6-month imprisonment on charges of possession of narcotic drugs while he was at Cairo Airport coming from America.
