Today, Wednesday 29, the Economic Court issues its ruling during the trial session of Ahmed Hossam Mido on charges of defaming referee Mahmoud Al-Banna.

Ahmed Al-Adawi, the lawyer of referee Mahmoud Al-Banna, said in statements to Cairo 24, that he claimed a civil claim for one million pounds against Ahmed Hossam Mido, accusing him of defaming his client on social media.
The competent investigation authorities in Heliopolis referred the case of Ahmed Hossam Mido to the Economic Affairs Prosecution, accusing him of defaming referee Mahmoud Al-Banna, due to the court’s jurisdiction to refer the case to the competent misdemeanor court.
It is noteworthy that the competent investigation authorities had previously ordered the release of Ahmed Hossam Mido on bail of 10,000 pounds in the report submitted by Mahmoud Al-Banna accusing him of defamation and abuse on social media sites.
