J.D. Vance, US Vice President Donald Trump, said on Tuesday that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is holding despite the Israeli raids on Gaza City and Israel and Hamas exchanging accusations of violating it.
“The ceasefire is holding,” Vance told reporters. “This does not mean that there will not be small skirmishes here and there.”
He added: “We know that Hamas or another party inside Gaza attacked an (Israeli) soldier. We expect the Israelis to respond, but I believe that the peace announced by the president will hold despite this.”
