The Shubra El Kheima Criminal Court in the Eighth Circuit sentenced a worker to life imprisonment, as he was convicted of drug possession and trafficking, as well as possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license and resisting the authorities during his arrest. This incident comes from Qalyubia Governorate, where the ruling was headed by Counselor Sherif Mohamed Safwat Salam, and several other counselors.
The events of the case go back to the Public Prosecution’s referral of the accused, “Ahmed M.A.M.,” to court on charges of possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking, and this was considered a felony in itself. These events occurred in the Qanater Al-Khairiya Center, where the case was registered under No. 3891 of 2025, and was registered among the total cases in South Banha under No. 928 of 2025.
It is worth noting that the accused also possessed a firearm, represented by an automatic rifle, and ammunition without obtaining the necessary license, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the applicable laws, and the prosecution strengthened its position with strong evidence supporting these charges, which led to the issuance of the harsh sentence used against the convicted person.
Investigations also reported that the accused resisted the policemen who tried to arrest him, pointing at them with his firearm, thus trying to intimidate them to dissuade them from enforcing the law. This ruling comes within the framework of the authorities’ efforts to combat drugs and maintain social security in the country, which calls for taking strict legal measures against the perpetrators of such crimes.
