Toyota Motor Co. announced on Monday that its global production rose more than 10% in September, marking a rise for the fourth month in a row, with sales and production rising in the United States of America, the Japanese automaker’s main market.

According to Reuters, Toyota’s global production for September saw an 11% growth compared to the previous year, reaching 918,146 vehicles. Production for the month in the United States rose by 29% thanks to strong demand for hybrid cars, and recovery from the suspension of production of two models last year.

The world’s largest automaker announced that its production in Japan rose by 9%, and in China by 16%.

Global sales rose for the ninth straight month in September, rising 3% to 879,314 vehicles, with US sales rising 14%, offsetting a 1% decline in China and a 5% decline in Japan.

Toyota sold 7.8 million vehicles during the first nine months of the year, an increase of 5% from the previous year.

While production and sales figures include its luxury brand Lexus.
