Information and investigations from the General Administration for the Protection of Morals in the Specialized Police Sector confirmed that a person with criminal information – a resident of the Ibrahimiya Police Station in Al-Sharqiyah – committed fraud and defrauded citizens and seized their money, by claiming his ability to perform spiritual healing, engaging in acts of quackery, and promoting his criminal activity on social media sites.
A quack was arrested for claiming spiritual treatment
After codifying the procedures, he was arrested at the Attarin Police Department in Alexandria, in possession of the tools used in quackery.
When confronted, he admitted to his criminal activity as referred to, and to filming video clips while practicing quackery and sorcery and broadcasting them on his page on social networking sites to increase viewing rates and achieve financial profits, and legal measures were taken.
